Intel HD 2500 Vs 9500GT
Hi,
I just got myself a i5 3450 processor with DB75EN motherboard. I already have a 9500GT from my old rig.
Will the graphics card be a bottleneck for the CPU for gaming?
Which one is better for gaming?

I don't know which one is better, but I would just stick with the HD 2500 for the power savings and simplicity.
Come to think of it, what is the RAM configuration of your 9500 GT? Most of the reviewed cards came with DDR3, but most of the ones sold were DDR2 which was a lot slower.

9500gt def is the better card.
Tried some older games like Combat Arms and BF2 and for the most part the 9500gt ddr3 destroyed hd2000 on my 2500 non k.
Web browsing and non gaming,might be better to leave it out for power consumption sake.

Just get a modern card like the 7770/7850 or 650/660. They will be several times faster than that 9500GT. If you want to game, it is a shame to handicap that CPU with a several generation old graphics card that was low end when it came out.

Op for all we know might be playing some free to play games or something and theres some games that would run fine on that card,battlefielfree to play,bf2 as i hear its still a active community and Combat Arms has millions of players.
9500gt would be fine and i know from experience,but of course forget any modern games you pick off a store shelf.
Modern games really call for at least a 7750+ these days but if the Op is still stuck in 2005,his 9500 gt would be fine.

From this TomsHardware graph I can say that the 9500 GT is as least as fast as Intel 4k graphics. If it has GDDR3 it is even better than that. So no matter what the 9500 GT will be faster than the HD 2500.

9500GT is faster,
the 3dmark vantage score is not a lot better, maybe only 100-200 points over the HD2500, but in games performance is a lot more consistent and in some games clearly better, with for Source engine games for example the difference is clear...
but it's hard to find tests, if you have both you can try....
the 9500GT is quite weak, but if you are playing TF2, L4D in 720p it should be enough and better than the 2500....

I recently upgraded from 2 GTX 460 1GB to 2 9500GTs in SLI and I couldn't be happier. Excuse me while I take my anti-psychotic medication.

Go with the Geforce.
Even if the Intel IGP was equal or slightly better it's the drivers that still really let down Intel chips in terms of gaming.

It shouldn't have been a surprise that even a low end dedicated card will still compete with Intel's IGPs plus current gen low end cards are fairly cheap. Then there is the vast secondhand market for old 92/GT200 and Fermi era cards for nickles and dimes.

Agreed. Especially in older titles, Geforce stands out.
IMO, Intel graphics is great, but not for gaming.
