It's like a blizzard out there. Maybe 2" of snow here, but it's blowing hard enough to be a white-out.

CT is getting good 3-4" and looks like more is coming.

God bless all the people with no power/lost their possessions. It is FREEZING out there.

My son was upset this morning when I told him to put on winter jacket....came home thanking me cause even that wasn't enough.

For Wayne, NJ this latest storm did not amount to much. No really high winds and just about 2-3 inches of snow on the car. Power is still out from hurricane Sandy since Oct 29 (thanks to JCP&L / First Energy not wanting to get the downed power lines back up) ... They really need to spend money fixing the overhead lines and tree trimming, where needed, instead of paying all their executives high salaries, so they can buy bigger houses, costlier cars and bigger yachts. I will vote Against All Executive Pay and Against Reelection of all Board Members when stockholders vote. They may not get out, but they will get the message: "Customers are not satisfied with how the company provides service"

We got maybe 2" of snow here in MA before it turned over to rain this morning. When it first started yesterday it seemed like we'd get 4-6". Oh well. Hopefully it points towards a snowy winter this year rather then the lame one we got last.

over in bloomfield, nj we got about 4" of snow so school opening was delayed for 90 minutes. we were still without power this morning since we got it back for about 5 hours on tuesday so last night was pretty cold. my wife called me after dropping the kids off to tell me that we got power back but i told her to make sure she jacks the heat up again just in case it's only temporary like tuesday's stint.

good luck, bruceb. hope you get your power back soon. fyi, @bloomfldnjpatch has occasional gas station updates in my area.

I don't know how far west the storm actually made it, but it's been sunny, blue skies here in Western NY yesterday and today. (Cold though.)

I found a few stations open near me. The Hess on RT23 North at Alexander Ave and also the Hess on Eastbound RT46 Fairfield. The Valero by Target on RT46 in Fairfield is also open.

It started out balls to the wall yesterday here but petered out around midnight. Woke up to ~4" this morning.

It turned out to be a pain in the ass but not much more (for me). Almost got trapped in Boston, though.

Default Stupid tax question - Merchandise ordered last year but charged / shipped this year

I'm trying to gather everything I need to do my taxes this year. I'm a little confused in one area. I ordered some items at the end of December but they didn't ship or charge my credit card until this year.

What year do I claim them in? 2012 or 2013?

Perhaps in more than one area...
