but in the same manner, it makes no difference if you get it on xmas or now since you already have it.
Yeah we set aside funds and make a small list for each other of a few things. Makes it easier to get a start and some ideas. Then we use our own m;ney for gifts that are not on the list thst we come up with as a surprise. A few of the games I got were on the list, I purposely didn't buy them at release because I did expect them at Xmas and I wasn't exactly jonesing to play them right away. Since they were on sale I said I was just gonna buy them at that time. Anyhow I hope the game is good cause my friend is also gonna buy it for some online play.

Anyone do online with this one? How is that part? Any issues?

online is great I particularly love "infected" which is basically keep away. but if you get tagged you become "it" as well and have to tag until there are no survivors..

this is a blast and levels fast..

then there is your standard racing and some other fun modes like cat and mouse and king.

open free roam is ok.. it does not have traffic at all so you can go blast down roads you normally cant.. this makes getting speed traps MUCH easier.
and you can do it with friends which is fun.

Really enjoying this so far! I put 2-3 hours into the game last night and have found 2 barn cars already. Plus, I was surprised to see my buddy had bought the game as well, as his gamertag was listed ahead of mine on the first speed trap I found. So glad to have others to compare and compete against.

see i love all the exploration things that it sounds like this game has. that was the best part about burnout paradise. so much to explore and find, and it is rewarding when you do all of it. i should be able to put some time into this game over the weekend.

I put about 90 minutes into it, and my first impression is very positive. I haven't felt this immersed since I played BioShock for the first time. Nothing groundbreaking. Just everything done right.
My only gripe so far is the chick not shutting up. I think she'll tame herself after the basics are done.

I played for the first time last night, wasn't sure at first but the more I played, the better it got.
Still haven't dialed in the wheel/controller settings to my liking. Using the buttons instead of the D pad for manual shifting(like it is in Forza 4) is kind of a bummer.
The open road driving is cool, I like being able to cut corners and swap a little paint, which of course is frowned upon in Forza.
Only as first impressions; seems like a lot of fluff between races/events and the game startup seems really long. Using menus to do things like switching cars and finding Rivals matches seems unusually difficult. Overall, Horizon seems more like Dirt 3 than Forza 4. At the retail price point of $59.95, if you compare it to equally priced games like Forza 4, Black Ops II and Halo 4, it seems like you aren't getting "as much game" with Horizon. Since I got it for $15, I can't complain, glad I didn't pay $60 for it though. Ironic, the Season Pass for Horizon would cost more than the game.
Overall, should be a fun game, looking forward to the Rally Pack DLC.

definitely a fun game. im glad it is more arcadey than normal forza because i am not a fan of sim racers. it's not nearly as fun as burnout paradise was to me but i still really like it. i like the whole feel to the game and especially the music. it just reminds me of the fast and furious which i enjoyed (well most of them), although i'm not into ricers or anything at all.

i wish there were more shortcuts and hidden stuff in the world. i don't like how they tell you where all of the discount signs are on the map (well not all, there are some hidden off the beaten path). but burnout paradise had billboards similar to discount signs, but they were all over the place and in shortcut areas, you really had to search for them to find them all. it was just a fun search and find thing to do.

but still overall i like it a lot. i've probably put like 4 hours into it the past 2 days.

Start looking for barns.

Likely only when they become "active" via the rumor mill.

Just got mine this weekend for $15, have not tried it yet, but it looks good, and could not pass the great deal on it.

The more I play, the more I like it. Getting flogged in Rivals matches because I'm still using automatic shifting(hate the buttons for shifting instead of the D pad) and all the assists; Rivals with faster cars and no assists will win every time.
Hard to believe I could drive past a barn and not see it, but I spent a good amount of time cruising around at 30mph looking for one of them.

Naw I'm in the top 5-8% of all my leaderboards and I use all assists and only braking lines.

Auto has very little to do with it..

more has to do with tuning and perfect car combos and getting the corners just right.

for the barn finds you have to listen to the radio.
it will tell you when and where to look.

I have been playing the hell out of this game. It's a ton of fun.

For my derp moment, I offer: I didn't know PR Stunts were in the outposts. And completing them got discounts. D

Derp.
