Without welfare, I am sure the US would have a civil war now.

Its an illusion to think there is unlimited work, as long as you wish to work. Not to mention all the other factors.

For some people, they would do better on Welfare than to work where they are at with no health insurance..etc. Really just depends where your at in life financially, if you have kids..etc. The majority on Welfare really do need it, otherwise they would just be on the streets as well as their kids and that benefits no one. The fewer percentage that abuses it would not end in a positive note if Welfare was removed. Crime would likely go sky high, that's for sure. Regardless it's not like any of them are suddenly going to go out, get a job that can support them and everyone be happy, just doesn't work like that.

Welfare is a must. I just think the US needs a welfare reform.

In Denmark for example you get quite good welfare, however we have activation. So essentially the welfare turns out to demand something from you. Job applications, job training, education etc. Else the welfare is removed. Sick and permanently sick people excluded naturally.

It's that same in the US too.

You should probably start by trying to get a job

You seem to use the pronoun "we" when you really mean "my parents." You are owed nothing.

Smart people know that making money by not working is better than making money through hard work. That's just common sense.

If you do it through capital gains, you're a smart Republican. If you do it through welfare, you're a smart Democrat. Easy-peasy one-two-threesy.
