Good thing I have a MS store in my city because I can never see myself buying a computer at BB again. Even buying a dishwasher was a painful experience at BB.

You've pretty much just described an Apple store. A Best Buy is pretty much the exact opposite of that.

but i do agree, it's seriously annoying when a BB employee is just dicking around when 90% of the laptops are password locked.

Now I've not used windows 8, but on a mac you can lock all the settings so you cannot change anything, but you don't need a password to log in to the computer, couldn't they do something similar on windows computers. Then you wouldn't need to track down anyone.

Apple has a pretty pro demo version of software that they install on floor models. There are custom versions of many of the apps so you can play around but nothing will get broken. One thing I saw was that on iOS a custom Facebook app replaces the real Facebook app. It works just like normal but it is really just a dummy account with fake friends and updates so people can still "use" the demo models but don't have to log in.

but i love people who login! like the people who login to their Google accounts at the AT&T store and I buy random apps for them...
