At some point as wasted time starts piling up, its just best to RMA, to rule out the mobo itself. And when you do get a new one, put it together out of the case.
But I feel for you.

This sheet shouldnt be rocket science
Why everytime theres a new chipset we have to go thru torture?
Gets old after a while

There is an 8-pin connector that I had to supply power to in order to get a Gigabyte H55-USB3 to even power up to POST! Even though the Gigabyte manual said this was only for running extreme processors (i3 520 is about as far from extreme as I can imagine). But, once I provided power to the motherboard's 8-pin connector all was happy in the forest again--even the Woodland Creatures were happy.

What a pain in the ass. I've emailed gigabyte about it so I'll let you know what they say.

anastasis, I've got the same setup.

Gigabyte H67A-UD3H
i7 2600k
Corsair TX850 PSU
Samsung SSD
Corsair 4x4GB Memory

Same issue, but I first found it trying to install Windows 8. After several hours of trying, I returned to Windows 7 Ulitmate to see if I could get it to install. Windows 7 installed fine but as soon as I tried to install Intel's HD Graphics drivers it would refuse to boot.

After reading your Corsair power supply was the issue I knew that was my problem. Yanked out a OCZ PSU from another build and the computer fired right up with the Intel Video drivers install.

Who would have thought a Power supply could cause such a strange problem.

I would be very curious as to the DATE of the Intel graphics drivers in device manager/video controllers/properties/driver tab that you installed.
(I now strongly advise 9-2012 or later)

Many of the various downloads pages have much earlier versions
Also what vers HD Graphics does your CPU have?
Can you help me out with that?
