White socks with tennis shoes /shorts. Black socks with shorts looks retarded but it appears to be the style.
The ankle socks are back in. My 11 year old wears the. Black and white.
White tube socks with the colored rings......1980.

I like white socks. Black socks are made differently and have a weird texture to them and tend to get all sticky and sweaty, at least worse than white ones. They're just too thin. White socks are also much more available as you can get them i like packs of like 10 while blacks usually are maybe only 2 pairs in a "pack". Black socks are to go with dress shoes, white socks are for everything else.

I hope you mean velcro sandals. And that your knee-high black socks have little pouches for each individual toe to fit in.

I wear those all the time when I work out, especially when I'm running outside. It helps to minimize my sock tan.

Also, lederhosen and a jauntily befeathered cap.

I never stopped wearing white socks, just don't wear them as much. Every once in a while I wear them to work on casual Friday, and I usually wear whit socks on the weekends.
Basically if I am at home or wearing tennis shoes, I am wearing white socks. My wife is about the same, although she hardly ever wears socks in the house.

I never owned anything other than white socks until about 2 years ago when I got a job that required me to actually dress nice. Now, you only catch me wearing white socks when I'm cutting the yard.

Not sure if serious?
If serious then the answer is however old I am when I die.

Uh, it's not an age thing.. it's a shoe thing. White socks with athletic shoes. Black or Brown socks with black or brown shoes, respectively.
Everybody knows this.

That's the fun thing about ATOT.
I made this as a parody thread to go along with the other three "how old is too old to wear X" threads. Turns out people take their socks damn serious around here.
I wear white socks every day. When I'm wearing shoes, I wear ankle (not below the ankle) white socks. When its time to wear boots (1st snow), I throw away all those socks and buy all new crew length white socks. When spring comes around, I throw those away and buy new ankle length socks.
I have 5 or so pairs of nice black dress socks. I buy a new pair whenever I buy a new pair of dress pants, which is usually only once a year. I only wear dress pants to interviews and funerals. Both of which I hate with a passion.

I made an executive decision a few years ago to switch to all tan socks. I only keep a few black pairs for use with dark slacks.

That's what I wear 90% of the time.
The question is, why wouldn't you wear white socks?
