all the things you see are just placeholders right? put there by the realtor or the seller to make it look like a house

I agree. I know some folks like that style but, nothing there says comfortable.

While true, staging a house for sale is even more important for high price houses than your average home. Perhaps he should just fire the real estate company.

Too big for me, unless of course it comes with free cleaning staff.

I would rather a smaller house, but with a cool theme to it. Like a hobbit house, that would be so cool!

The taxes would be a killer though. I probably could not even afford that house if I won it.

I think these sprawling american houses are complete shit.
I'd drown in all that space and solitude.
There's no need for kitsch decoration or all those facilities either.
4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms is enough for 90% of families.
1 dining room, 1 external dining place (terrace with roof or something), 1 kitchen, 1 room with television and a fireplace, 1 cooking fireplace, 1 computer room/man cave with a nice view is all I'd want.

Commenting the furniture and decoration is useful only up to a point because they will remove everything.

I would very much NOT pay 5 million for that. If it sold for 3 million in 2008, then it's price would be more realistic between 1.5 and 2 million today.

That said, I do like Mediterranean style architecture.
If I had 5 million that I was going to spend on a house, it would be not anywhere close to Texas. I would not have "white" painted rooms, maybe white trim, but not white walls. For 5 million I would expect more than 23 rooms also.
