Where are the FM2 ITX mobos?

Funny seeing this thread, which I missed seeing before. I was wondering exactly the same thing about a lack of FM2 mini-ITX boards.

That's exactly the sort of motherboard I've been looking for to build a file server in a Fractal Design Node 304 mini-ITX case with six 3.5" drive bays. Closest thing I had found prior to this was a socket 1155 ASUS P8H77-I, with six SATA headers.

Wow, that board looks sweet! I believe that might be the first ITX board with more than six SATA ports onboard too. Would make a nice board for the Lian-Li Q08B or whatever the mini-ITX case with six 3.5" HD bays, and a DVD bay.

Disturbing, the pictures on Newegg's site DO NOT match the pictures on ASRock's site, for the same-named board. The pictures on Newegg's site show 4 SATA6G ports, rather than 7, for some reason. Yet, in the printed specs on their site, Newegg does list 7 SATA6G ports.

So which version are they really selling? I thought that the layout, as shown by ASRock's site, was superb, especially the 7 SATA6G ports. Is this some cheaper version, just for the US? Or are Newegg's pictures wrong?

Should I order one? Who wants to be the guinea pig?

Edit: The whole POINT of using the A85X chipset, is the 8 SATA6G ports. To cripple the board with only 4 ports, makes no sense. Might as well have stuck with the cheaper A75 chipset, which also has SATA6G and USB3.0. Or called this board a v2.0 of their A75 ITX board, with fixed VRMs.

Btw, I thought that the VRMs were supposed to have a heatsink, too, on this board. But Newegg's pictures don't show a VRM heatsink either.

The board pictured on Newegg is identical to the FM2A75M-ITX on the ASRock web site, except for the model number printed on the board. They're even the same photos, so the photos themselves must have come from ASRock and were probably photoshopped from the stock A75M pics.

I'd bet that the board has seven SATA ports and the other features shown on the ASRocks site.

Good catch! Pics on Newegg aren't in the same format as the other motherboards available. Also, looking at the model number the characters seem to be printed on a black background, while on the normal PCB the letters are just on the PCB with circuits visible behind the characters.

Older A75 chipset. ASRock board is a lot heavier on the features for only a bit more money, plus looks to have beefier VRMs with a heatsink - important for AMD platforms.

It seems like there aren't a lot of AMD ITX mobos in general. (1 of the 7 ITX boards available from MicroCenter, for instance.)

Why is that, do you think?

The Newegg listing for the ASRock FM2A85X-ITX has been updated with correct photos and the price has dropped to $99.99. Of the three reviews so far, one user has received the board with seven SATA ports, while the other two are from people who don't own the board.

For comparison...

Zotac H67, 2500K, 8GB 1600, 3xSSD, Radeon 6670 = 138W

Are you overclocked?

The new ASRock board has me interested in FM2.
