So what have you decided? Pulling the trigger or still kicking tires?
My brother has a Yellow Ferrari and he claims that his maintenance aint' too bad. He does everything with his private mechanic he has had for years. And only uses the car to impress the ladies. And that it does.

I'm Maserati shopping and have an appointment tomorrow. Taking my cousin along, she's relatively the same size.

The 550 is interesting, but scary. It was Ferrari's first front-engine car for nearly 30 years, and it was made under Fiat ownership. They're a luxury exotic, so you don't have super-heavy clutches or hot fumes to deal with, but I'm not sure it would be a good daily driver.
For that money, maybe get her a newer Porsche 911. It will be a lot more comfortable, economical, and the warranty will cover repairs.

I liked the Mas GT, it's like a more comfortable and refined Corvette, but with a louder growl. And it's incredibly gorgeous in person, very sexy. My cousin had no issues driving it, in fact she was like "buy one for me!"
So I haggled, going round and round with them, and I bought it. Now it's sitting in a buddy's garage, hiding out of sight.

After some searching, I found a 2004 575M in her favorite car color (silver) with 9k miles, F1 Auto gearbox, all the options available that year, clean Carfax, and it looks immaculate inside and out. They'll take $80k for it, and I might be able to come down a little more. I'm aware of maintenance prices, and exotic Italians aren't what anyone would call incredibly reliable, but is it a really bad idea? Should I look at something else instead, maybe like an '08 or '09 Mas GranTorismo? They're priced in the same ballpark and I'd say it's her second favorite.

|
That one is so cheap because its the wrong color. Boo on that one. And yeah, $80k you better make sure she likes it and agrees to it. And the color is important to women. From my experience, most of the car buying decision is color and looks when it comes to ladies car shopping.

Riiiight. You guys are a little creepy sometimes.
BTW, that is the actual car, up there. She won't be receiving it for several weeks, though.

Well, not a whole lot better, but the best I can do with my phone. We went to a very nice place to eat, and while inside I had the cars switched. After dinner we went out to the parking lot and she started freaking because she thought someone had stolen her Accord. Then I handed her the key and fob to the Mas and asked her to give it a try instead. She hit the unlock button, this car lit up, recognition dawned on her face, and then she screamed. Damned near almost damaged my eardrum. It was very well received.
It drives well and physically fits her perfectly. In performance, it's no Ferrari 575, but it's plenty enough to get her into trouble. It's a lot like a more luxurious, and louder, Corvette, TBH. Dead sexy in person.

Get it if you think she'll enjoy driving it. But not as a daily driver.
Edit: sorry didn't read the whole thread.

Niiiiiiiiiiiice!
My wife loves expensive cars too. Will you give her one? And while you're at it, I'll make-do with a Cadillac ATS.

Thanks y'all, it is a pretty car. I know it's a big hit because she's so picky about it. Cleans off every speck of dirt, picks up any spot of debris, and she's even given it a name. Yeah, I knocked this one way out of the park.
