Fail.
There are no TPMS sensors on CX-5. People who live in 6 mos with snow climate buy wheels/tires, especially when they have 19" rims.

In my opinion, Mazda has built cars which are very competitive with Honda & Toyota for years now. It frustrates me that their sales are always a fraction of those two (at least here in the US).
I don't mind the exclusivity, but would like the company to survive and do well.

It's probably why they worked harder to separate themselves from Ford. Ford was only basically allowing to be or act like a subdivision in the US even though they are a large company that could stand alone. They worked hard on not letting Mazda push the products that were built on shared platforms. For good reason too, when you think about the Mazda badge was a direct competitor for the Ford badge and Ford wasn't going to get anywhere near enough money out of lets say a Mazda3 over a Focus or a Mazda6 over a Fusion. No reason to let Mazda cannibalize sales when you can control the US distribution.

Whew! Good thing it's made in Japan. You wouldn't want it made in some shitty country like the US.

TPMS sensors are required by law. I'm not sure why you think the CX-5 wouldn't have them.

I happen to own one. Yes, yes, yes, no need for it:
2nd Post by GAXIBM
"...The CX-5 does not use sensors in the wheels, it counts revolutions of the wheels with the anti-lock brake sensor and compares the four. If a tire is low it will rotate faster, thats why you have to reset it when you change a tire or change air pressure so it will have a new basis for comparing the four wheel speeds to account for normal tire wear..."

Not sure what this response is about. But the non-specialty Mazda's have been built in the same factories as Ford. For example the new 2013 Fusion's are in the process of being built in Flat Rock, Mi, this is also where the new MKZ is being manufactured. Last year that Ford plant was building Mazda6's. Ford treated Mazda like a subdivision because for all intent an purposes if you weren't buying an MX-5 or RX8, then you were buying a Ford manufactured part here in the states, they just were getting less money for them then they would a similarly priced Ford.
It would be one thing if Mazda had established themselves as a more premium brand. Maybe Ford decades ago thought they could shift them over to that. But for the most part Mazda parts are priced and featured at the same level as Ford badged products.

Picked up a 2014 CX-5 Grand Touring on Saturday. Went with the grey exterior, black leather interior and 19" wheels. Pretty nice car for the money. Only thing I could add to it was the tech package. But didnt think it was worth the money. Handles well, feels solid, and gas mileage is in the low 30s on flat highway going 65mph.
I was impressed with its size. Not having actually seen one up close nor drive one. I thought it was the size of the Nissan rogue when it was actually closer to the size of a Rav4 or Nissan Murano.

2 tanks later and this thing is pretty nice. Last tank I got 30.8 mpg in city driving. Cant wait to take it on the highway and see how high she goes!

I really like the CX-5. The only thing that would give me pause is Mazda's reliability, which isn't on par with Toy-exus or Ho-cura. I'm hoping the Skyactive drivetrains are an improvement, but the last round of transverse four-cylinders from Mazda were obviously assembled by disgruntled Elbonians. 100,000 mile wonders. :/
