I actually agree with this; for people with imbalances in their brain chemistry, any kind of foreign substance that affects it is generally bad because it can throw off the balance. That includes weed, alcohol, cigarettes, etc..

Thanks for all the replies everyone Especially Brigandier. I met someone who got a shot in the @SS as soon as he came in, but he was a pretty nice individual as was everyone else there.

Yeah, bad idea to self-medicate with any kind of substances. It can also mess with meds.

Good on you for seeking help. Hopefully you can find a treatment that helps you over the long term. Don't think of yourself as a leech; it's our job as a society to look out for each other when we need help. That's what makes us better than those arrogant dolphins.

It takes guts and brains to seek the help you did, OP. Props and good wishes as you move forward.

Things could be much worse, at least you aren't as fucked up in the head as Alky. *shudder*

Just because they don't admit it, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

LOL that reminds me of Office Space where the guy broke his neck, could barely move, but was happy because he didn't have to go back to work.

When you're down, the world looks like a minefield. When you're up, it looks like a candy store. The trick is realizing that both are true, and only you can decide where you step.

I should be as non-lively as I've ever been in my life (for the next few months at least). They diagnosed me with schizoaffective disorder. They didn't take away the Asperger's Syndrome diagnosis which I believe never should've been considered a special medical condition (i.e., having Asperger's Syndrome does not impair those that have it). I think my problem is just low IQ (like <=90) although I'll never know what my IQ is.

That said, I hope everyone will be happy with me being a "leech on society"... there are two correlates to that:

1. My parents' money is running out (they'll die in debt... they refuse to use their saving to pay their way out of debt, they refuse to cancel their credit cards as they're worried about their credit rating, and they refuse to invest in commodities that more money can be made off of; in other words, they just want to keep worthless paper assets and exclusively consume everything we buy).

2. I can't ever work like this.

I just thought I would tell people here since they kept telling my to "seek professional help".

Any thoughts, questions, or comments are welcome.
You don't have to be a leech just because you will require public assistance. There are surely things you can do for the folks around you that will improve their lives. It doesn't have to be from "working." As long as your focus is to be a positive force, your life will be good.

Just found this thread via the one at top of p&n. Whatever I can say about the OP I can say with complete confidence that his intelligence is above median (100). Absolutely not 90, and for the reason edro states.

If he were a D&D character, I'd say he has a high intelligence, but low wisdom.
