3 month : 4.40%
YTD : 9.94%
1 year : 4.19%
3 year : 3.10%
5 year : 1.67%

Not especially happy with our fund choices, but at least I get free money from matching.

~12%. Just have it set on aggressive mix. Our fund choices are weird. They are not anything available to anyone else. They take funds, mix them together and make them NC funds. It really sucks pretty much.

15.37% YTD (JPM was pretty close). S&P500 is up 12.90% YTD based on my contribution pattern.

Unless you are close to retirement age, what the heck is the difference whether its +20% or -20%

Just keep investing in solid funds and forget about it.

Umm...

Let's say I'm 40 and I plan on retiring at 60. The difference between earning +20% and -20% is FIFTY PERCENT (1.2/.8 = 1.5) of the value of my portfolio. The difference is 50% when I'm 40, and it's also 50% when I'm 60, assuming all else is the same.

Yeah...I care about that difference.

Do you know anyone who is currently retired and living off of funds from their 401k?
