Default HOLY CRAP!! I just spilled battery acid on my pants!

Ick, I opened up my flashlight to check the batteries, and as they came out I discovered not only that they got fried, somehow, but that I got battery acid all over my pants. I washed it off with cold water and some soap, but I don't know if I did everything I should. HELP!!

Use baking soda right away. Neutralizes acid.

Luckily, Saltboy "Jr." didn't get hit. The acid landed mostly around my knees and such. I'm just worried my khakis are going to disappear before my eyes.

Baking soda would work, or you could just throw them in the sink with a bunch of water - hopefully it isn't super strong acid (and most likely it isn') that reacts with water.

now you know how they make acid washed jeans.

dilute with water. that fixes it. its not like hydrofluoric acid, which is really nasty stuff and will kill you faster than hydrochloric or sulfuric.

acid doesn't react with water. but don't pour water into acid, thats a bad idea.

Oh, thanks a lot Sherlock...

I think everything's taken care of now that I've used the baking soda(Thanks Hayabusarider)... no lasting stains and no disappearing khakis. Phew!
