Wow, it's been more than 10 days and I still wasn't notified about this update by the automatic checker. Nothing new, mind you. I rarely get notified before noticing it myself.
Is there a mailing list or RSS feed or something, to know about Flash updates as soon as they come out?

I haven't used it myself, but I think FileHippo's freebie checker will do that: http://www.filehippo.com/updatechecker/
The Secunia PSI utility is another highly-recommended one if you're looking to keep on top of what's patched or not: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/

Thanks, but I'd rather not have another program for this. Besides, I tried the Filehippo checker and it said my 11,5,502,149 Flash is up to date.

I was using Secunia PSI 3 (nice little program)like mechBgon linked in his post, however I thought no point in having two different programs doing same thing in my case.

Use this link to see check if what version you have:
Flash ---- http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Shockwave --- www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome
Java --- http://java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp
Sometimes, you may have set Flash to update automatically, in which case it may not
prompt or tell you it did or is doing it. If it does it while the browser is open, you would not see
the new version until the browser restarts. But I think for all of the ones I mentioned, the Browsers need to be closed before the updates can install.
Mem --- I see you have Avast 8 RC2 .. is it still nice and low on cpu / memory usage like V7 ? ?
Still as fast or maybe, faster ? ? ? And can we turn off the Program Update Checker (as most programs have their own built in) ? ?

Actually a lot lower on Avast 8,currently using 6MB according to task manager on my Win8 x64 Pro...Avast 7 was using around 15MB on my Win8 PC.
Yep still fast,faster IMHO.
I've seen it go from 5MB to 9MB so still very low and very stable,no issues whatsoever, updates fine too,its an improvement for sure over Avast 7.
Yes can disable it,has web rep too and adblocker for Firefox etc...all can be disabled.
Btw I put a thread in Security forums if you want to try it.

I will likely wait until the final release comes out. I run an old Dell Dimension 8200 with P4 @ 1.8Ghz and 512MB of Rambus RAM .. eventually it will get an upgrade, but for what I use it for, it works fine.
