Ive got this cpu and it does 4.4 stable on air with stock volts. Beast of a chip, takes everything I throw at it, be it games, or crunching a movie, it just chugs along. OH and I paid $20 more for it at tigerdirect 2 months ago.

Man almost tempted to sell my "Overkill server" and go AMD, but the price I paid for that Ivy combo was too cheap to get rid of it

Cheaper than Microcenter, which is typically the cheapest source by far, so that is a very nice price.

It looks like MC lowered their price to match:
http://www.microcenter.com/product/4...oxed_Processor
Nice deal from either place.
Wow, pairing this with a MB at MC gets you $50 off the MB, so this FX8120, with an ASUS M5A78L-M LX+ AM3+ 760G board is just $5 more. $155 total for the MB & the 8320. That's crazy.

Nice, I was looking on the bundle page which still lists the old price, but when you add to cart it comes up for $149. Really grat deal at MC if you need a motherboard too, as the MB gets $50 off when bought with a processor.
edit: which you already pointed out. durh.

I decided to go with an FX-6300 for the lower TDP (and the fact that I mostly just game on my PC) and got it for 120ish, but if I had seen this the day I ordered it...oh well. Great deal for a Vishera 8 core!
