It's irrelevant if sites don't review it properly.
Not many places seem to have reviewed the Samsung Ativ Pro, or the Acer W700, which are the two closest competitors I would say.
If they review Surface Pro in the absence of competitors, it's pretty much a meaningless review, so while you wait, read up on the relevant broadly similar competitors, and hope that people who do review Surface Pro talk about those products.

All the sites have their reviews out now. The basic consensus is that it isn't a great tablet due to the weight, heat and battery life, and it isn't a great laptop because of the overall size and design of the input devices.

It has potential, but needs to be thinner and lighter. I'll be curious to see what Microsoft does with Surface 2 Pro.

thinner, lighter, better battery, and a better dock that has real laptop usage. I see people trying to use this device on their lap/other weird awkward positions where an ipad is a piece of cake. Surface pro would be a challenge...

I find my iPad 3 too heavy so sadly Surface Pro as a tablet sounds like a PITA. Love the idea though, hate having two devices.

I agree that it makes a terrible laptop, but so does the ipad. Sounds like a comparison just to spark some type of flamewar. They aren't even in the same category. Surface Pro is running full blown windows, not some mobile OS. The Surface RT and ipad is a comparison, the new "pro" tablets are for people willing to spend more money to get a full windows experience. If they weren't interested in that then they shouldn't be looking at the pros in the first place.
There's plenty of ways to pick apart the Surface Pro without dragging the unrelated ipad comparison into it.

the problem is that the surface is trying to create a new market place. I think I read one review that sum up the surface pro the best: It's not a good laptop, nor is it a good tablet. But it's the best/only one out there right now.
I would've held off longer if surface had haswell for a better battery experience, and probably a stiffer dock so you can use it in your lap. It's pretty obvious microsoft is gunning for the laptop and tablet, and make the best of both world's. Unfortunately, it's both worlds, but definitely not the best. (from what I read)
but my hands on impression at best buy (without the pen) is that it's pretty damn fast!
