That figure has skyrocketed ever since guns were banned in that nation. In fact, in the four years after the 1997 ban, the violent crime rate more than doubled."
Bullshit the UK don't have the highest violent crime rate in the world. Unless you take 2 drunks beating each other up as a "violent crime".

How many of those homicides were gun related and how many of them were done with illegal firearms? How many of them were a conviction?

It's obvious that by Chicago's insanely strict gun laws they've created a pool of victims for the predators to prey on.
This is very true. Look at the murder rate! (from the most recent FBI UCR (2011))

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr...tables/table-6

Chicago homicide rate: 6.8 per 100,000.

Slaughter!

I bet if we look to other cities with extremely strict gun control we will see similar problems. Hey, I hear NYC is very strict with guns, let's check their homicide rate:

NYC homicide rate: 4.75 per 100,000.

Hmmm.

Hey, I hear Texas loves guns and everyone's armed. I wonder what Houston's homicide rate is? Probably low.

Houston homicide rate: 5.4 per 100,000. (note, 2011 was an abnormally low year, homicides increased again significantly in 2012)

Hmm. Well maybe they don't have enough guns. Arizonans love guns!

Phoenix homicide rate: 4.9 per 100,000.

Hmm.

Hey, in Florida you can Stand Your Ground (TM)! I hear that's great for stopping criminals.

Miami/Ft. Lauderdale homicide rate: 6.1 per 100,000.

Hmm.

I've got an idea, how about we realize that trying to make up reasons for increases and decreases in crime due to gun laws is stupid, and that real analysis requires taking a lot more into account.

Nah, what fun would P&N be then?

He's trying to make the argument that the government fails at keeping contraband out of prisons. How can turning society into a prison solve the problem?

Are there any gun crime stats that remove gang bangers, career criminals and drug related murders?

Thanks for proving beyond any reasonable doubt that the Examiner article I linked was accurate and that by disarming honest citizens it lead to a statistically higher murder rate.

This is factually false. Not that I expected better of you.

No I am implying that a voilent does not always involve a firearm. Define a violent crime in the UK for me
