Last real run before my trail 50K next weekend. I'll round down since I rounded up a bit yesterday. 9 miles, it was glorious out this morning. Winters in FL are wonderful.

Add another five from me. 2 on Sunday before a 12 hour shift and then today 3 miles.
Now lots of you are running much farther than me, and I will be doing a Tough Mudder in the summer and that is my training goal at the moment. Basically couch to near half marathon(though I could probably and reasonably argue a 12 mile run with 25 obstacles requires as much, if not more, exertion than a straight 13.1 mile run.)
Anyways, feeling quite proud of myself at the moment. I've been training with Merrell Trail Gloves and absolutely loving the move to forefoot strike. Used to have shin splints like crazy and after almost a month of training no shin pain whatsoever. Moreover, I'm progressing faster than I thought I would.
Like I said, did 3 miles today, after each mile I did 15 burpees and 15 jumping lunges, and after the final mile did 30 body weights squats + 5 pull ups. But the more impressive part for me was I tried to focus on finishing/negative splitting today. And boy did I succeed. I was always a better back half swimmer when I swam competitively and apparently the same applies to running.
My splits: 1st mile 9:48.88 2nd mile 9:43.64 3rd mile 9:37.72.

Go Lean Crunch made me fart more than Texans drinking beer and eating pinto beans. Great stuff.
I did a miserable 4 miles tonight. I felt great and could have run faster and longer but the plan calls for tapering so tapering it is.

10 miles yesterday
Still trying to decide what I'll do today in the snow. It's beautiful to run in the snow, but of course it has to mess up my footing, which is the downside.

Thanks guys. I ran at least 34 miles and beat my old PR by 1:04:09, my previous PR was on a course exactly 50K in distance. My finishing time yesterday was 6:07:30. The winner came in a 5:37:xx so I don't feel too badly. The course was horribly marked and the RD told us at the start that the official distance, if the course was followed to a T, was 33 miles. Not an ideal race to PR on but I'll take a PR any time I can get one.
