The Asus models with the 1080p screens hover around that during sales.
I've seen current Series 9's go for $899. That's not terribly far away.
With something priced like this, $699 which is hardly a disposable price, and no real possible upgrades, you really do want to get as much power as you can get. Especially in the graphics department if you hopes to do any light gaming on it (occasional Diablo or WoW while on the road).
If you don't really care about graphics at all but still want a nice display (IPS), why not just go further down in price and pick up an X220. They're going for $400 on Lenovo's outlet site.
