Cars like those, with autocross (aka cones in a parking lot)? Yeah, no.

There's a place near my work with something similar. $149 for one lap, plus two "discovery laps" to learn the course. They also have a police car you can do a lap in. Which sounds exciting until you realize you can actually buy a used, well maintained, and unmodified police interceptor for under $6000.

They do it at the Bridgestone Racing Academy at Mosport, out in Clarington Ontario. The site says they use the full 2.4km long track. It's pretty windy though so you likely won't hit top speed.

Indeed. The place that does it is GTA Exotics, located in Oakville if anyone's interested. They're at South Service Road east of Eighth Line. I've never been but I always seen their big sign when driving up the QEW. I wish I could have worked there instead of the crappy vanilla rental company I spent three years at.

I have not done it, but I know some people who have done a similar exotic car drive around a small local racetrack. They said it was awesome, and if they have an option for more laps you should take it. Because 3 is really just a warmup.

A hundred bucks for that? F yes.
It is no track but on a track without training half the cara would get wrecked if people like me were given them. A month or two from now a hundred bucks is nothing to you. You will remember this memory fondly for years. It's like sky diving. Absolutely every damn person MUST sky dive at least once. You will never get such a thrill out of that little money unless you stick it in your arm.

But what if doing autocross with it is just enough to be annoyed that he never gets out of first gear? That's the danger. Autocross and high performance cars don't mix in my mind.

Yup, did it for 4 laps in an F430 at Summit Raceway. I really should have done more laps. The first lap I was concentrating on my lines and learning the track, the next few laps I opened her up a bit more and my lines got pretty sloppy. Hard to concentrate on getting a feel for the car and driving/shifting smoothly, getting a feel for the track and apexing every corner at the right speed, AND enjoying the visceral sensations of the experience all at the same time.
It was kind of sad to see how many other people were too afraid to really drive the car, though. They just kind of puttered around as if they were going on a grocery run. My guy told me that he wouldn't have let me drive it any more aggressively.
