WP 7.5 contacts - can I change from Windows Live to Google account?

I have the Lumia 710 with WP 7.5. When I first set it up I copied my contacts over from my old phone via Bluetooth. Then it asked which I account I wanted to sync these contacts to and I chose to create a Windows Live account.

Now I'm thinking - I should be able to change these contacts to sync with my Gmail account, riiight? Can somebody tell me how to change my contacts to belong to my Gmail Account instead of Windows Live?

Log into your live account online and export the contacts to csv. Go to Gmail and import the CSV. Verify the contacts were imported successfully and delete them from live. Add the Gmail account to your phone if you haven't already.

Well, duh! Simple but effective, but I may not have thought of it!

Thanks, will follow that. It might also solve my issue of duplicates from the Windows Live account.

Remember that soon (depending on your Gmail account type) if you end up getting a replacement or new phone you won't be able to set up the Google account as an Exchange type (with contact/calendar sync).

As for duplicates you can always filter the lists and combine contacts as well. I ended up transitioning to the Live contacts, though Google is my backup for close family/friends. Even if you filter (like filter out Google contacts) the other ones will still show in a search (and auto fill in fields like email, messaging, etc) so you haven't lost them that way.
