Compared to the hardware that actually require such a powerful PSU, the cost of the PSU is pretty much a non-issue. Does it matter if it costs $350 or $250, if you're paying $2000 for four high-end graphics cards?
They are for use in PC's still running Windows 2000!
What? No sane person would build a modern gaming PC on Windows 2000 - not even a decade ago.
