New Car!! Mazda CX-5
Just picked up this baby last Friday, so far LOVING IT!
I got the Touring version with 19 inch wheels. Still made in Japan! the built quality is top notch and it got Toyo tires! woot!
The only drawback was the dealer tinted the front windshield 80%!! WTFBBQ... He asked me how many % I want the front window tinted, and my impression was the front SIDE windows, not the front windshield!! Good thing they were able to take it off before I took it
This car is so feature rich in its class: moon roof, bluetooth audio, iphone integration, steering wheel command, cruise control, back up camera, leather, folding rear seats, etc
I'm babying it so far and haven't driven on the toll roads yet.. but soon I will

I love this car - the only detractor for me is the lack of options on the manual transmission model. But, for those who don't want to row their own gears, it's a great choice
Congrats!

I considered it. There are no snow tires available in the size that comes with the 19" wheels. A very huge negative in my eyes, to offer an AWD SUV that does not have snow tires available.

In mazda2.jpg, I'm just wondering where that is. A fancy parking garage?

Oh we live in an apartment complex. The parking garage is communal.

I considered the 17 vs 19 inch tires. The 17 is 1000 bucks cheaper, but the 19 looks so much nicer IMO. so I went with the 19. Also it doesn't snow here so no worries in that regard

I was looking at picking up a 2012 CR-V EX-L for mom, but I may look into the CX-5 Touring.
How was the pricing for you ? You think there's a lot of room for negotiation ?

I also considered the CRV. It is more spacious for the rear passengers and priced similarly to the CX5. However I really don't like the ass design, seems a bit... off...
Also the country where I am, what they offer for the CRV is really lacking compared to the CX5. They dont event have moonroof and back up camera on the CRV, and the leather/bixenon is only available on the 2.5 litre version.
Also the CX5 drives MUCHHH better than the crv.. the handling feeling is superb
I got a late 2012 model and was able to get pretty good discount out of it

I have a CX5 (business partner drives it, I own it as CEO)... good car, great mileage. My only gripe is its slow to accelerate to 65 on onramps, otherwise its fine.

Yup actually one of the main reasons why I chose the CX5 over the CRV is because of the smaller and more fuel efficient engine (2.0L vs 2.5L for the CRV). Here traffic is a bitch and having a fuel efficient car is definitely a plus.
Yes the CRV also has a 2.0L version but the options in that version just sucks (no leather, etc)

hm.. going to test drive some cars over the weekend I suppose. No 2012's in the States for the CX-5.
I saw a brand new mazdaspeed 3 2010 in the inventory listing at one of the dealers. actually really surprised that they still have a 2010 brand new O_o.
Going to get some feel from different dealerships on see how much they're willing to go.

I really love the simplicity of the dash. Dashboards are getting ridiculous these days. Nice car OP.

Ok...but....wow. I've never seen floor tiles in a parking garage. The garages I've seen are concrete, sometimes painted. And sometimes there's even lighting available , but they're usually excellent places to get mugged, or have a body dumped just up against a wall where it would go unnoticed for weeks.
Where is that? Japan? Somewhere in Europe?

Mazda is going to use a 2.5L Skyactive engine in the 2014 Mazda 6 in the US. Maybe it'll make its way to the CX-5 as well. Every review comments on it being slightly underpowered with the 2.0L.
Had two Mazdas - very good cars.

Still loving mine.
Got it especially because I could get one with manual transmission.
