Earth calling the NY Jets... Crazy that the Redskins, Seahawks and 49ers have far better backup quarterbacks than anything the Jets have 1-3. Well ok Cousins and Flynn have only played in one game but did great. If I were a Jets fan I'd like to see them clear the QB house and take a chance on Cousins, Flynn, Smith than keep that disaster of Sanchez and Tebow.

I can see the seahawks dumping Flynn. Hell I can see Flynn screaming to be traded. He signed with them even though it was said some others offered more money. He was supposed to be the starter, whole reason he left the packers.
Redskins will not shop Cousins or let him go for at least 1 more full season. They will give him a lot of preseaon play though and any blowouts he may come in.

You still are ignoring the point I'm making. I KNOW a bum knee could theoretically affect throwing. Review last weeks stats compared to the Cowboys game. HINT: In week 16, he had NO problems throwing but had OBVIOUS issues running. What changed between then and week 17 (besides you diggings for excuses)?

Thank you. That was the only point I was trying to make.

About the injury to RGIII's knee it most certainly did hamper his game. There was a couple runs I know for a fact that he would have tried to get more out of if his knee didn't slow him down. Mind you, he's still fast with the bad knee but not as fast. Shanahan even mentioned this in the post game interview. There's a pass he threw to the weak side that was just horrible, fluttered and dove to the ground. I don't know how Andrew throws but I know Robert pushes off his back foot to get good velocity. Did his knee affect play? Yes, undoubtedly. Did it cause a bad game? No, again I don't think he played bad in fact he played his role and that was good enough.
|
Fair enough.

I am curious as to what your response would be to this question.
What abilities does Andrew Luck have that RGIII doesn't?
This should be good.
|
Andrew Luck's pocket presence and footwork is the most impressive of any rookie QB I've ever seen. Period. He hangs in the pocket and will make throws with defenders draped all over him and pulling him down. The guy has an uncanny ability to sense pressure and to step up in the pocket to avoid it. Even with that, he was still sacked 41 times and while I don't have the stats available, would guestimate he was hit at least that many more times after getting rid of the ball. He was the victim of a lot of illegal hits and may have led in that category too -- lots of players were flagged and fined for illegal hits on him.
You guys are also overlooking Luck's scrambling ability which unlike RG3, is used primarily to escape a collapsing pocket. RG3's mobility isn't as one-sided as Redskins fans would have us believe -- he is obviously faster (he ran a 4.38 40 vs. a 4.59 40 for Luck) than Luck but it isn't like the difference between Michael Vick and Peyton Manning in the run department, for example. Remember, Luck's 40 speed at the combine equaled Cam Newton's speed and he was, at one point, the leading rusher among AFC QBs (not sure if that held towards the end of the season or not). Luck rushed 57 times this season (too much in my opinion) and as I said earlier, I'd say all but 10 or 15 of those were actual scrambles to avoid a collapsing pocket. The rest were QB sneaks or QB draws.
I've covered where Luck went wrong this season in my other posts, so I won't go over that again unless someone asks.

RG3 has brought a ton of excitement to the fanbase of the Skins... I have been a skisn fan since 88, and I have wanted to just bang my head against a brick wall sometimes...
They are doing things no one expected them to do this year...
The Butler is running DOWNHILL, and he is doing a dang on good job....
I personally think we are still missing a few pieces to the puzzle.....
That being said... I think the skins will beat the seahawks at home by 3
EDIT: Also I will say that Luck is a hell of a player, but his athletic ability isnt nearly as good as RG3's... RG3 throws a serious deep ball and has proven that in several games this year....

I just realized that the Redskins are the 2nd largest revenue makers in the NFL...
http://www.forbes.com/sites/kurtbade...aluable-teams/
Cowboys obviously number one, but I was suprised to see the Jets there at #5. Location means everything!

Hate it or not you're right. The sooner skins fans let Shanahan know the better.

Shanahan knew better. He's not exactly a young head coach. Hell if he gets fired up there, we can use him to replace our mentally deficient coach here in big D (not that it's all his fault, it's really a mess all around besides Jason Witten and a couple other standouts).
