Don't understand their role. If they choose to become someone else, good or bad, and the same team wins then they do? If they die before they pick a new role, they lose no matter what or if they die after they pick (but don't use the abilities) they can't win? What if they don't pick a new role at all?

This is how I understand it. I also thought if they did not pick a new role at all they would lose after all of team bad or team good died off.

Penguin Power walks into the town square, surveying all that surrounds him, quickly he is mauled from behind... as he lays bleeding out the two villagers come to his aid; Quickly he realize that one of them is a wolf, and though He, the HUNTER will die, he can take one of them with him!
It all lays in the hands of Penguin, who may at any point shoot one and end the life of one of the other villagers. If he chooses the wolf, he wins, if he chooses the villager... well at least he's put the poor son of a bitch out of his misery.
