hi,

What is the best choice between a Iphone 5 and a Samsung Galaxy S3 ?

I want a all in one phone ( Camera, picture, GPS)

Acces to the web

Is Internet good on these phones ? acces to all websites ?

is there enought space on a Iphone 5 with 16 gb ?

there are many montly plans of 100 mb to 2 gb ?

What is the best plans ?

The Iphone will be use only on the road.

Email, news, Facebook and twitter.

a little bit video and music.

Can you help me to choose the best deal ?

is a iphone 4s could be good for my use ?

my computer is a PC with Windows 7.

I might be biased because I have the ip5. I switched from android and a gnex and razr m about a month ago. Loving it.

Plus the size for me is much better on the iPhone 5.

They are both great phones and your answer is going to depend on if you prefer iOS or Android.

They are both going to do what you need them to.

Have you played with some modern Android and iOS devices before?

They are both "good". 16gb isn't enough on an iPhone if you have a substantial music collection you want to carry around. The S3 has a microSD slot so stock capacity doesn't matter.

The best plan depends on your use and where (country and region) you live. Most users here would lean to the $45/m AT&T Straight Talk prepaid plan for moderate use in the US, but that would involve buying the phone off-contract, perhaps even secondhand. And that would probably make the Nexus 4 a really good option if/when it's ever available. Alternately, Straight Talk via T-Mobile would get you more data and faster data speeds... but you probably would have reduced coverage.

There are a lot variables. I think the biggest thing you need to focus on is if you like Android or iOS.

Both are totally capable and reliable devices. The only better one is whichever has the user interface you prefer. Personally, I have never been able to really enjoy iOS. I can use it, but I much prefer Android on my Note.

This. Sounds as if the OP has never used a smartphone. Go into the store, have them demo a few phones for you and see which you like best. Have them show you the built in email clients, web browsers (visit a few web sites you're familiar with so you can see how they operate on a smart phone) and navigation apps. As mentioned both phones will do what you want. You are going to have to go to the store. Play with the OS's, have the salesperson do a demo of features, get hands on with the form factors, use the keyboards, etc. The OS's are drastically different, the sizes are drastically different among other things. I like the iPhone but the GS3 is a very good phone and the way to go if you like Android. You need to go and see what you like, not have us tell you what we like. Also get your hands on a W7 phone.

I agree. It all comes down to preference. If you want something that's more customizable Android is probably the way to go, but if you're looking for something that "just works" you'll be happy with the iPhone.

I think before going to the store, come up with a list of several tasks. For example: make a phone call, write an email, go to www.anandtech.com, find something to eat, try to find movie times. Then when you go to the store, try to do those tasks on the phones you're interested in.

When you don't know much about each phone, you don't really get much from holding it and swiping it around (which I see 99% of people just do). The whole "do you prefer Android or iOS" doesn't really tell you much. To really see what you prefer, try your best to do the tasks (without help ideally unless you will have someone to hand hold you the entire time) and see which one is easier and better for you.

Why are those 2 your only options? The HTC DNA spanks the GS3 in many respects, and the display is drop dead gorgeous.

Do you want a large display? If small size is a selling point, the iPhone is probably your best option. But if you prefer a more customizable interface and a bigger screen, then get the GS3.

But I would suggest you not limit yourself to last year's technology. Take a look at the Droid DNA from HTC.

Also even tho the gs3 has an sd slot get the 32gb version if possible. I got the 16gb version and even tho I got a 64gb sd card apps will not install on it. Apps will only install on the phone memory. Unless you root and rom it. Same goes for iPhone, 16gb is too small today with some apps at 3gb or more.

I am sorry to generalize, but from your post it sounds like you aren't a big techie.

In that case, I would recommend the iPhone 5. You don't sound like you want to tinker with android, and the iOS UI is more intuitive and smooth.

WP is interesting. I debated getting a phone with WP8. The install base and, therefore, the app base is particularly limiting though.

I would love to see it grow more. Why do you check out a WP too, OP?

Because he's too inexperienced to know what he's missing, and will be locked into a two-year contract after.

WP8 is useless unless you *intend* not to do more with the phone than you discover in the first hour or so of use.
