Thanks. I've been using the 2010 version (also got it from a giveaway of the day). Frankly, I preferred Nero Express because it seemed to recognize my DVD drive better. Don't know where that CD went though.
I'll be using this Ashampoo 2013 version now

i got it from another giveaway and immediately started getting spam emails from them.
also in the program itself there is a little box at the bottom. if you click on it to close it your browser opens up and are automatically directed to their website.

I skipped this because the last time I signed up for one of the deals from them, I was completely bombarded by spam. I'm still fighting to get off their mailing list.

Now I remember when I was installing it, it was being tricky by wanting to install a toolbar and search engine, and some other crap, but if you did a manual install you could uncheck it all. Maybe thats why people got spam for they just flew through the install progress without reading before clicking ok?? Or they didnt offer that before now for many of you complained?
But as of yet, I havent gotten any emails, or anything else strange since installing. But thats me.
Anyway, the free offer is over. I posted a new, good, one for people to try if they want.

I never even installed it. The old deal you had to email them for a serial number.

spam comes from the serial you get. in order to get the serial you have to register on their website and include your email etc. you could just use a throwaway email i suppose. but i mean they literally started 'advertising' their other software the same day i got the serial. they also have that annoying box at the bottom of the burning program itself.
