Little research here, and indeed, it seems Digimon World (PS1) is the rarest game I own. Quite beat, but still very much alive, which is all that matters as I buy games to play, not to have them sit forever and sell them off. Still nice to know that one of my favorite, and one of the most, quirky games I played in my childhood is considered hard to find though.

Super Turrican 2(SNES)
Bought this on a whim about a year ago and haven't regretted it since. It's worth nearly $100.

I also have Vampire Savior which also used the 4mb Ram cart. I checked the prices on Ebay and it seems Japanese Saturn games are pretty much worthless except for few like Radiant Silvergun. But US Saturn games are ridiculously expensive. It looks like anything anime or role playing related are expensive. Games like Shining Force 3, Shining Wisdom, Dragon Force, Guardian Heroes, Christmas Nights, and Burning Rangers are all stupid expensive. I have all these and more as I was a big fan of the Saturn.

I don't really know if any of these games are rare but I'll list some that seem like they might be:
Original Zelda gold cartridge NES I got when I was 7
Ocarina of Time gold cartridge collector's
Majora's Mask gold cartridge collector's
System Shock 2
Thief: The Dark Project original box (before gold edition)

I have every Ultima Online disc up to Age of Shadows. I don't know how rare those are.
I have Chrono Trigger, just wished it was unopened. >_>

And mine is most definitely not sealed. Played the shit out of that game on my Tandy 1000HX

I don't think they are really rare, but I have the full 5 or 6 CD set for the Wing Commander Kilrathi Saga....think it's like WC1-4 all together.

Taboo for original nes. It was just a game that randomized cards and read your fortune, and then gave you lotto numbers. I can't imagine they sold too many of these.

no, you can find it readily available, $2 to $5 used. Maybe if it was unopened but even then it's only worth what anyone is willing to pay for it. Some things become saught after which increases value, most on average don't despite how few were actually sold or produced.

I just figured rare since it was such an awful game, people would've just trashed it haha. I definitely wasn't considering it valuable, just rare. I just held onto all of my nes games, and this is one I don't know of anyone else that has even heard of it.

I've got one for the rare but not valuable column.
My Creative Labs PC-DVD DXR2 came with a remastered copy of Wing Commander 4 on one dual sided DVD with DVD quality MPEG 2 cut scenes.
As far as I know, it was only available in that kit.
And it's amazing how much quality it was filmed in, for the CD versions to look so bad.

Pretty much everything for everything from NES to PS2 with the exception of stuff like Stadium Events and Flintstones Surprise at Dinosaur Peak.
Almost have a complete in box black box set for NES, all RPGs for SNES, etc.
When I started out collecting I pretty much went straight for the rarest titles first to get them out of the way. Smooth sailing after you knock out the expensive ones first. It's not too hard since I kept a lot of stuff since it was new from the store.

They're a lot more common than you think. They can easily be had for $5 or less.
As for me, I don't have anything really rare. I have a lot of uncommon SNES games (even that's a stretch, they just sell for more money) like FF3, Super Mario RPG, etc.
I don't really buy or collect games based on rarity.

I wish i had a game room where i could collect more stuff and display them like AVGN has on his show.

i always thought that controller looked fun as hell. wish i had it though i bet it's useless now on todays hardware and OS's isnt it?..it might be worth some change though.
Shenmue sold pretty well, i have it too so i doubt its rare. maybe part 2 on dreamcast which was also made for Xbox too. I liked the game, shame they didnt make more...sleeping dogs kinda reminds me of a modernized shenmue.

I never bought games based on rarity either. I bought games I wanted to play. I don't really understand the collector market. Systems and games I think should be expensive are not. Stuff like Virtual Boy and games are pretty cheap when I think it should be expensive. Same for systems like Sega Nomad and Neo Geo Pocket Color and games.
