Is ALT-F4 really that hard to get to?

I do almost everything with a mouse. Using a keyboard is many times inconvenient, like right now. I'm laying in bed holding my keyboard in one hand, and typing with the other. When I'm finished, the keyboard will be placed ~2' from me, with my mouse at my side. If I wanted to shut down, using the mouse would be much better than reaching over to the keyboard, and using buttons.

I often log in to machines from a smartphone. Keyborad shortcuts are a hassle in that case.

Windows Server 2012 is especially stupid in that regard. Who on Earth thought that a touch-based server interface was a good idea?

While i was getting used to W8 i made a shortcut on the desktop with the command to shutdown the system.

Now i just use ALT-F4 or through the charms menu.

For those interested

Shutdown and restart
http://jack-brennan.com/Downloads/Shortcuts.zip

Throw them on your desktop and you're a double click away from shutting down/restarting your pc.

Restart: C \Windows\System32\shutdown.exe -r -t 00
Shutdown: C \Windows\System32\shutdown.exe -s -t 00

**Edit: Ok i see the link did exactly what i did
