Default Sharable note taking app

I'm looking for something seemingly simple, but is difficult to find.

I would like a way to have a sync'd shopping list between my desktop, a windows 8 phone, and windows 7 phone.

Any tips? The simpler the better.

Evernote

Failing that: Dropbox (or Microsoft's version of it)+ Notepad

I use evernote for a grocery list. They have an app for pretty much every platform.

Google Drive works well.
Or use gmail and keep editing a draft.
Both about as simple as you can get.

the other suggestions are great too.

OneNote auto-syncs, always has for me.

Since the OP is in the Windows eco-system, I see no reason not to use OneNote. It's very good at what it does.

Evernote is a ridiculous resource hog and much too cloud dependent. My elegant solution is CintaNotes with SugarSync.

If you have Office, OneNote is pretty awesome and can sync your notebooks with other devices via LiveDrive or whatever MS is calling it now.

I'll admit I don't know much about sugarsync. What exactly is the advantages of sugarsync over evernote? They both seem to be cloud based systems, since they both work by storing your data on their servers. The only advantage I see is that sugarsync offers encryption (which IMHO is a major downfall of Evernote), but do you get to choose the encryption password or do they have access to all your data?
