Thanks OP. Another game I don't need, but too hard to pass this one up.
And, already had a $3 off deal from the lightning deal on Assasin's Creed 3 to apply to this as well. $16.99. Awesome sauce.

Game does NOT run under XP, so yes the missing files are DX10 related apparently. A good half or more of the games we like don't run in Win7, so this may be a deal killer for us.

What games don't run on 7?
I understand where you're coming from, but the reality is, at some point, you have to upgrade. XP is about 10 years old now. While it is still patchable, the platform is dated and developers have to move away from older OSes otherwise development gets too costly.
As it is, if I had that problem, I'd strongly consider a dual boot environment with a second drive. Legacy games still can be played on XP, and simply get your new ones with Win7/8. Just a thought.

I just switched from 98SE, and LIKE XP pro.
Its older hardware as well, plus while I could see going to 7 I really don't want to go to 8, which means I have to look around for an old 764 license etc.
The point was to play a game on sale for $20, not spend a weekend and another $100 on upgrades.
I still play Diablo II LOD, and its not happy on 7, but I haven't spent much time forcing the issue. We have a dozen or so older games we still like to play, and eventually will have a couple legacy systems to play them on, just not at the moment.
