I'm sorry for creating such a large output... and pretty soon I'll drop off. Yes. I keep saying that. But we just had a few clusters built and they're leaving Monday.
It feels good being in the top 100 in daily production in the entire project right now.

Its too bad I can't have beta wu's all the time. My ppd is 280k, but thats for 8 hours or less, if history holds....2 7623's right now for 28k in 7 hours, just for these 2 cards.
EDIT : NO ! My 2 560's have a 7623 and a 7624, no wonder I have 280k ppd ! This never gets this good. And my 460's have 7626 and 7625. What the hell just happened ???? my lowlyest video card is getting 22k ppd ??? WTF ??? (IN a good way)

Saturday morning stats:
Here are the folding stats as of Saturday, December 7, 2012, 12.02 am CST:
Here is a graph of our daily production:
Well done, TeAm!
I'll look into the production of the racers later today and will - probably - restructure the teams to make them more equal. This will be harder this year in part because PCTC2's uneven production ...

Haha, you need to read about three posts up from your post
Even my venerable old G92 increased PPD by ~40%. Up from 5k to 7k. WOOOHOOO!

I knew it wouldn't last long. Back to regular units. ppd drops 80k so far, not even 24 hours of good stuff.

theAnimal gets WU's that are worth 242k (not in PPD, but just overall). What kind of WUs are those?

My video clients (460,560ti and 660ti) get 11k, 15k and 15k in regular clients, and 22k,29k and 36k respectively on beta clients.

Well, it looks like it takes him almost 2 days to do a single WU, worth 240k. I wonder what client settings and WUs he is getting.

Sunday morning stats!
We have been racing for 7 days and there is an inbalance between the two teams. This is how it looks just now:
The main problem is PCTC2's great production. PCTC2 also states that his production will be less than even. Thus we have two viable options:
- PCTC2 can become his own team
- PCTC2's production can be split evenly between the two teams.
Considering that PCTC2's production benefits the TeAm as a whole greatly, and that his production will be variable and that a team of one is not a team, I propose that we choose the second alternative, i.e. that PCTC2 contributes equally to each team. This makes the teams less sensitive to PCT2's production changes and allows all members to continue racing.
I have also balanced the teams somewhat and they are now as close as they can be.
The stats look then like this:
What do you all think? Please post in this thread!
No matter where PCTC2 will race from today on, the TeAm's output looks very good. The racers produce more than 70% of the TeAm's total output, which is very nice.
Well done and well folded, TeAm-mates!

Thoughts after the first week of the 7th Annual Folding@Home Holiday Season Race
Considering the change that has been instituted by the admins of Folding@Home during the past 3 days, it is very hard to make a prognosis of the result of the race. However, being an intrepid stats-wizard, here are some ideas:
- The TeAm will probably produce approximately 55 - 57 million points during the race, which is approx the same production as in 2011. This is somewhat unexpected, considering the otherwise lower production numbers in the previous months.
- The TeAm will be passed by fold4life.com during December, not within a week, but just around Christmas (or later).
- The fun-points are increasing more than the folding@home points (personal communications).
We need to recruit more new folders - not only those who already fold, but those who have stopped folding and those who have not started yet. The race is usually one great opportunity to do that! If a new folder wants to join a specific team, that is OK and I will not move that folder to an other team.
One of my GPUs has stopped working: one of the fans is dead. I have been wondering why the temps were around 100-102ºC and checked ... The GPU worked OK when I shut it down, so I very much hope to resurrect it with an aftermarket cooler. I will miss the points though ...
Have a nice sunday and don't forget: sundays in december - if the temps outside are above -25ºC - wonderful days for a BBQ. I am planning that for later today and the meat and fish are already marinating!

Appologies folks, but I'm withdrawing myself from all this fun. F@H isn't compatible with my lifestyle; since I can't leave my PCs on all the time I end up crunching 18 hour work units for a couple of hundred points under this bizarre bonus system.
I'm back on World Community Grid for my space-heating requirements now.

Thanks for the stats, Peter
If PCTC2 is OK with being on two teams, that looks like a good solution.

My points yesterday were horrible! Woke up and left for work while the power was out. Machine was off all day yesterday due to that.

Those are -bigadv WUs. I mostly get 8101 which are the 240k ones (unfortunately since they are actually the worst PPD of all the bigadv WUs). They require 16+ threads to be assigned (and be sure you have at least 10 WU with a passkey before getting otherwise points will be much less).

Peter, that sounds like a good idea. What you don't realize... is that was my plan from the very start. MUA HA HAHAHA. Welcome to the Borg Initiative, Firecats and Folders! You have been assimilated.

Hmmmm.... I have hundreds of WUs with a passkey and I have "client-type bigadv" set on a few of my more permanent systems. Both are 32-thread systems. I wonder why I haven't picked a single bigadv WU up.

flag guidance
I switched over to the V7 client some time ago, but did not set any flags. In looking through the different options there is not a lot of guidance as to what is appropriate for the different setups.
I know the client reads your system and makes judgements for you but I have just recently set all my slotsl (GPU & CPU) to:
client-type
advanced
I seem to remember that advanced means late stage beta (more stable) if they are available.
If anyone has any guidance to give or a source, I would be happy for more info. There is a lot of info out there but I’m not satisfied I know enough about these flags, or even if they need to be set now.
I have quad cores, and four core w/ hyperthreading. (8)
The GPUs are mostly Fermi but with a couple non-Fermi.
Specifically, the flags like beta, bigbeta, and bigadv????

I think I found the answer I was looking for in a post on one of the FAH forums. What I brought away was that Advanced simply means you want WUs that are more stable than Beta but not yet considered fully tested. There is no points advantage. The new V7 client pretty much reads your system profile and gives you the correct WUs………… usually.

Bleh, checked this morning and got 5 failed units with my GTX 460. Not sure if it's the beta units that are unstable or the video card. Going to finish up the current task and take it out of the race until I figure it out. Video card has been solid for a few years with no issues so hopefully it's just the beta nature of the work.

I am running 2 GTX460's and haven't run into any failed beta units for what it's worth.
