Actually, I do have a beef with Biostar. They owe me $10 on a rebate that they acknowledge receiving and approving, but the online rebate system says it is still awaiting payment... after over a year.

Same here but it's been 5 months instead of a year.

I got my check from Biostar.
I guess I'm lucky.

Biostar is awesome. I have a couple of their boards in use, MSI as well. I'd only ever consider paying more if I needed to buy a board with more features, really. Only flaky motherboard I've ever had was made by ECS.
Would recommend Biostar any time. But like others have said, shop by individual board and by reviews, not by brand as all brands have good and bad ones.

I've used Biostar exclusively for all of the builds I've done for the past 5 years or so. Never had a problem with any of them. In fact, they are the first manufacturer I look at if I need an upgrade.
As for rebates... I don't trust them, regardless of who they are from.

well the deal is long over now.
It is good some of you have had good experience.
With motherboards there are so many to choose from the in the same price range. All I know is I want ATX and something with good features.
My last 2 boards have been micro, current only has 2 dimms.

I got my friend a Biostar board AM3 and it works great.
MSI makes me nervous due to so many failures over the years.
so where in Canada are you located, Shepard?

you sir are mistaken
they have gone a long way from their crap. I recommend their boards as much as I do with ASUS, in my opinion, ASUS has dropped down to biostar level and biostar has risen

lol, you were playing with toys 2 or 3 years ago, how could you know if Biostar has gone a long way or ASUS dropped quality?
As for me, I haven't used Biostar in 5-6 years, back then they had a reputation for being low quality stuff.

Phone the rebate processing company or the product seller. Biostar may have changed processors, but 2 years ago they were processing them in-house, and their online support and e-mail frequently didn't work. The product seller is liable if it made even the slightest mention of the rebate offer. Also people at bargain-hunting sights, such as Slickdeals and Fatwallet, may be of help since they typically have extensive experience with rebates.
