Gained 15lbs on squat by sprinting?
We'll I've been kind of short on time lately so I haven't been doing my lifting as much as I should. Last 3 Weeks I've probably done squats 1 time. So yesterday I was expecting to have lost at least 5 lbs off my squat. Put on 265 which is what I've been using as of late. Felt good the first two sets. Third set I usually do 5 reps and the 5th rep is a struggle. Well got to 5 and I still felt good. So I cranked out another 3-4 reps and my legs weren't even really tired. Only change I can think of is I've started sprinting at least once or twice a week.

Pretty sure squats and sprinting are well linked as in it's a known factor

Really? I've been lifting quite a while and never heard it. Also have increased my vertical at 31 years of age with the short few Weeks I've been sprinting.
I am now a big sprinting fan.
Anyone else get similar results from sprinting?

I'm super cereal, I even googled "squats and sprinting" - Don't let this get to your head, but this thread is result number 6 when I search!

Yep, pretty good history between the two. I had a CF coach who utilized Litvinov sprints pretty effectively (front/back squats, 6-8 reps at a heavy weight, followed by a 50-100m sprint, repeated a few times...that was his variation).

Heh, I wouldn't be surprised if they utilized this type of workout. It was named after a Russian hammer thrower.

Box Jumps are another awesome way to bump your squat up a little. Getting those fast twitch muscles trained helped me a ton with explosiveness out of the hole. Just make sure you're using a box that is pushing your abilities.
