Very excited for this. Although, if Joffrey doesn't die a brutal death this season I'm going to be very disappointed. (haven't gotten there in the books quite yet)

You might have to wait. He'll probably get whacked in the following season if they split A Storm of Swords right down the middle and do the first half in Season 3 and the second half in Season 4.

It'll be out by March, that's usually the way the DVD releases work. Old season is released to coincide with the new season.

Should be better going by the books.
Although imo the books version of how Jon Snow got captured by the Wildlings was better.
The books showed Qhorin Halfhand and the other people on patrol with Jon as being more badassed than just being captured while Jon was getting teased by Ygritte (the only highlight of those changes).
Also the much of dialogue between Jon and Qhorin in the book got cut which imo is rather sad because it better shows in part how Jon will hang on to his identity as a member of the Watch, despite the appeal that the Wildling lifestyle holds for him
That being said the 3rd book is imo better than the 2nd book so if it's all relative and the drastic changes are done better than the Jon gets captured by the Wildlings and Qhorin dies storyline then season 3 (and 4?)should approach or match the epicness of the first season.
*edit* I'm extremely envious of the actor who plays Jon. Rose Leslie is a definite hottie imo.

True, worth it for the OnDemand IMO. You get every episode of shows such as...
Band of Brothers
The Sopranos
Entourage
Homeland
Game of Thrones
Boardwalk Empires
Etc.
etc.
etc.
Those DVD sets combined are worth a couple years or HBO at least.
