FC1 MP was off the chain. FC3 MP looks like CoD. Fail.
Is there big hopes for the MP action? If so I might be in.

I just saw the 10 minute video from a Facebook posting, and wow... I dunno about the multiplayer but the single player looks freakin awesome!

Watched part of a video last night called something like, "first 45 minutes of FC3" and all I can say is holycrapwow. The way this game starts off is better than most great movies. I'm dying to play this. It looks like they really nailed this one hard.
I watched other gameplay videos and it just looks like a nice, colorful piece of delicious, tropical candy that I can't wait to sink my teeth into.

Anyone using uPlay for this? I bought a code from another AT'er on FS/FT and I have to use Ubi's client.
It's...something alright.

Does anyone know how long the campaign lasts? I'm on the fence about buying it on release day. If it was on sale I'd jump at the chance but I might end up waiting a month or two for a sale.

No clue, I've done like 3-4 missions and been liberating outposts, crafting, and exploring mostly.

I think I read somewhere that just the main story was 18 hours or so. Doing side missions will almost double that time.

I read the average is about 30 hours if you do the main story and a bunch of the side quests.

Put another 4 hours in tonight. Really enjoying the game. I like the side quest they are good to get stuff and explore a bit. Damn komodo dragons are sneaky since they are so low and there is soooo much grass that is tall all over lol

Played a few hours last night. The game is average. And this game makes me appreciate Crysis (2007) graphics more.

i'M a little disapointed that you can't go prone or lean like in the original far cry. Running kind of choppy for me as well, it also reminds me of those console games where you get behind someone, and a prompt comes up, you press you and watch an animation.

This review pretty much sums up my fears for FC3.
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/40...y-3-review.htm
A fantastic idea for an open world FPS, but handled like an inexperienced teenager.
Seriously now....the game is definitely going for the survival against all odds theme....and yet it keeps on overloading the player with loads and loads of info...where’s subtlety?
No options to turn down the info overload??? Hopefully a user mod should fix this in the near future.
Also looks like it’s just a bit too similar to FC2 if you are stumbling from patrol to patrol.
The gameplay videos do look sumptuous though.

But then Far Cry 3 wrong-foots you, in a way that we won't spoil, and you, as inexperienced backpacker Jason Brody, are left to fend for yourself.
|
Yeah, thats not spoiled at all!
Fuck heads.......

windows 8 runs fantastic.
yes all my PCs are 8 now..
much faster than my machine was on 7.
hate metro use Start8 like me.. get the speed benefits and still it acts like windows7.
awesome program.
and the game keeps getting better and better..
played another 6 hours last night... thought I was getting somewhere.. then I zoomed out the map and realized in 12 hours I'm still in a TINY section of the map..
game is awesome..
the crafting and getting equipped is what is taking me the most time.. but it is very fun hunting animals..
and they havent told you about ALL the different animals..
all i got to say is watch your backs. especially around water.. sharks are not the only bad guys in there.

I dont see how you can blitz it that fast..
like I said I'm over 12 hours in and barely scracthing the surface.
im still around the first town area with 4 towers unlocked around it..
and that is a tiny section of the map.. if I zoom out there are so much south of where I am its quadruple the land I have uncovered.
I think there are some people out there that really dont take time to enjoy the game..
I've barely scratched the story and have been crafting my bags and holsters in order to start the game.
this involves hunting game all over the map.. and some you will have to find via blind luck..
then in order to get the top tier bags you must do hunting challenges as well.
those are a pain in the ass but rewarding when you do it.
I really do not see anyone finishing this game in that amount of time.
unless they like carrying around 1 clip for each gun and 1 grenade and 1 gun if they do not farm the holsters.
