Default Better alternative to CPP?

I was wondering if anyone had a better alternative to Camelsystem Powerpost?
I've used it over the past year or so but when I upgraded to Win8 it started to get a little flaky.

I use MPC-HC + LAV + madVR + ffdshow.

It plays anything out there and at much better quality thanks to LAV + madVR
