"Restoring" iPhone 5 backup to iPhone 4
We recently upgraded from the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 5. We now have the 5's set up exactly how we want them.
Does any one know if there would be any issues if I "restored" the iPhone 5 backup to the iPhone 4 (making it a copy of the iPhone 5 setup), or is that backup incompatible with the 4?

I think that is a terrible idea.

That should be fine. The iTunes backups are just the data, so it should sync to any iDevice.

I recently bought an iphone5, restored the backup from my 4 but didn't like the 5. I tried to restore the 5's backup to a 4S and iTunes didn't give me the option to do it.

I have the same issue as radioouman. Trying to restore from an iPhone 5 backup to a iPhone 4 and it's greyed out (tombstoned). This is on a windows machine. Any ideas? Any other suggested ways to restore?
Thanks!

Sorry for the lack of update: I was able to complete the "restore" to the iPhone 4 without any apparent issues.

both should be running the same firmware the backup was saved on! example - if the iphone 5 was on 6.0/6.0.1 when the backup was made, the iphone 4 should also be running 6.0/6.0.1 as well!
