I use them up as soon as new codes are published, no reason to save them. Saw a mention of it at Gearbox forums and checked it out and there they were.

That's annoying if true -- I have 12 now, but could have used 3-4 for PT 2 upgrades if I'd known they would be replaced.
I can understand giving +10 to everyone who has never gotten twitter keys, but +10 for everyone who currently has <10 (even if they used 100 before) isn't fair to those of us saving keys for "emergencies"

Was still able to solo lvl 52 warrior using bee + cc, but it took longer than normal. Did a 2 person terra run, was doable, just took alot longer. Second time was even longer and he glitched out so we couldn't finish him. Still same crap drops though.

Checked Badass tokens and found 44. A programmer posted on Gearbox forums that the 10 tokens were compensation for having profiles reset and the rank increase was for have profile wiped at some point. Not sure if either applied to me, missed them if it does, but I'll take the free stuff.

i used my 1 golden key at PT2 around level 40 and got a crap rocket launcher.

unlimited keys FTW.. even though they are worthless. too much effort to seek codes when you can just use the key trainer and get unlimited keys and nothing but gold weps from the slots.

I've used trainers and opened the golden chest as much as 10 times before I finally got something usable for my character. So these Golden Keys are really not worth the effort. Even though I have snapped them up from time to time.
You even get useless class mods for other classes than the one you play with from that golden chest. Sometimes you get useless grenade mods, and other times useless rocket launchers, or weapon types not suitable for your character. Also, you can get useless relics. The golden chest is really not that special, and the energy you spend eyeballing twitter to get a few golden keys, then enetering the game to type them in is way to much hassle when you think about how little you actually get for it.

Yes, the odds of any random purple being useful is not great, but the chest usually contains multiple items of anything except rocket launchers. And if you're playing with alts one of them might need it.
I'm still using a +40% health relic from the chest at level 30? in PT 1, in PT 2 at level 37 since I haven't found anything better.

If you use a trainer AND still get shitty results that only proves the whole system is terribly designed.

I still have 4, well 5 now. I find them useful for when you need a weapon for your level 40ish characters and you don't feel like hunting one down.

Wow, people bitching about free stuff.
Obviously, the golden chest items aren't the best items in the game but I'm glad the developers went out of their way to try something new. It is a good idea for promoting their Twitter/FB/etc and gives them a metric related to key redemptions over time.
You could ignore the golden chest completely and still have a good time finishing the game.

I used 7 out of the 11 I got today and got two upgrades out of it. A way better launcher and a shield that is kind of a side grade. Traded spike for 500 health. Did run into Michael, I see him less than 2 or 3% of the time, and got total crap from him. Slot money.
