Default Seagate Barracuda 1TB Drive - $49.99 + shipping

NewEgg Shell Shocker Deal

I was checking the order status for a disk I ordered Sunday and found this. I'm sticking with my 2TB disk but I think it's a good deal.

Great price, but are the recent Newegg reviews true? I need a 1TB drive and I want to jump on this, but users seem show an abnormally high failure rate within the first year. Anybody have any experience? I have a couple of Seagate drives from 4-5 years ago (of the less than 250GB variety) and have had no issues, and even an almost 10yo Seagate still humming along nicely in my Tivo, but I wonder if their QC has gone downhill, judging by people's posts.

At least it's a 2 yr warranty on these. Might have to jump in on a few.
