Nothing wrong with turkey as long as it's done properly. But to do it properly without deconstructing it... it's a nightmare.

I'm not a big fan. It tastes good but different, and I prefer the taste of a properly done roasted bird.

Make sure the turkey is frozen before dunking it into the fryer!

The first time you have it you will think so, at least in my case, but I came to miss the smell of oven roasted turkey filling the house with delicious smells. I then started smoking a bird as well and, wow, just wow. Smoked turkey is heavenly. Fried turkey never really did it for me, but a lot of it is in the preparation and invariably, at my inlaws, where they fried it, they would inject the bird with the mixture and then fry it immediately instead of waiting for the flavor to soak in the meat. Sometimes their birds were also frozen on the inside still.....

My order - smoked, roasted, and then fried, but all 3 are good.

I'm thinking I'm going to smoke mine this year. I fried it one year and it was really good.

Smo-Fried turkey (smoked then fried) was starting to be a big thing, I don't hear anyone mention it anymore
