Default Media player

So no Apple TV, heard its no go for ext hd. Looking for hd playback. Have Ethernet or wireless. Ext hd is a backup in case streaming sux.

Would prefer not to go htpc route for this tv. Got media server downstairs.

Too many options.

i've been using my PS3 recently and it is working pretty flawlessly. i've been streaming wired from my pc to the ps3. streaming 3d even works which a lot of the stand alones don't work with.

the only downside is that trying to fastforward at 30x sometimes doesn't work. but i've only had to FF like 2 times.

PS3 is a great media streamer until Cinavia enters the equation. I can no longer recommend it to anyone as a media streaming device.
