Get a 7870 if you don't mind amd else 660 is your only choice.

Honestly to upgrade from a 7850 2gb you need at least a 7950 oc or 670 oc.

Why would you upgrade from a 7870?

They're saying that the performance difference between a 660 or 7870 and your current 7850 will be negligable. Going up to 7950 or 670 will be more of an upgrade.
Have you overclocked your 7850? Most of them Overclock like crazy, and will offer quite a bit more performance than stock.

That sounds about right. BTW, I heard people say that SLI works much better in nVidia than AMD cards, if that is in your foreseeable future.

I, too, would go for the 2GB GTX 660. It's 70% faster than 1 of my GTX 460 1GB and only costs $229 which is $40 cheaper then the GTX 460 1GB when it came out.
As soon as I've saved up the money I'm gettin' 2 GTX 660 2GB for some SLI goodness. After getting these 2 GPUs I won't need to upgrade ever again.
