is there a reason so many 350Z convertibles are for sale?
seems half the Zs around here for sale are convertibles. i'm almost certain that they didn't make near as many convertibles as they did coupes. is there something wrong with it or is it just that the convertible is even less practical than an already impractical Z?
edit: i look at Zs a lot and it seems this way even during spring and summer when you'd expect fewer 'verts for sale from a seasonal perspective as well. though in houston summer is definitely not convertible weather.

I think they look 'ok' with the top down....nothing great, but barely acceptable. Top up, fugly as hell.

Meh... I think it's simply because the awesomeness of a convertible wears off after a few years.
There are very few places in the US where it's truly comfortable to have a convertible.
It's only comfortable from 60f-90f and less than 90% humidity.
A thief can get in by simply slicing the top, and the tops deteriorate, thus you really need a garage.
All of the new better convertibles are hardtops.
I've known two people, one with a jeep the other was a mitsu eclipse, who started leaving their doors unlocked because replacing the top was so expensive.

Z-Coupe is a sports car. The people who buy sports cars research their purchases and know what they're getting into. Convertibles, almost as a rule, are chick cars or bonus cars or tool cars that people buy on a whim and get tired of quickly.

The 350Z convertibles are pretty ugly. If someone gave me one though, I'd take it!
(I drive a 2012 370Z)

I am an avid Z fan and the convertables are ugly. with the top down not so bad, but the Z is all about the roof line and with the soft top, you completely lose that

The Z is a track car really. The vert doesn't really appeal to the lady drivers because when top is up its rather tight and claustrophobic unlike a Stang or BMW. So that leaves old guys who like the Z to buy the vert. The coupe hides their hair loss better and allows them to talk on the phone more.

Because the 370Z is a better car in every way?

it's not as nice to look at, especially from the rear quarter. same thing happened to the G when they moved to the VQ37 as well.

The convertibles are ugly. Also cheaper coupes are probably going to get harder to find with Spec Z racing now.

Convertibles that weren't originally conceived as convertibles tend to suck.

?
the 350z convertible has a boxy rear end that makes it look like the drop-top was an afterthought.
The 370z has a nice, smooth rear that looks much more integrated:

i wasn't referring to the convertible. anything is an improvement on the 350Z convertible's looks.
