The United States of America!
.
I am not political at all.
I overheard someone on the television say that this election divided America.
Wouldn't an election unite America?
United in a new direction. United in New Ideas. New representatives working with the established President in his vision for America. The United States of America!

Perhaps you should begin by learning about Republican and Democrat.
Now look at the popular vote.
Almost 120 million votes, divided. Half the voters want stimulus and more government. The other half want austerity and less government. More or less. This choice is not reconcilable. There is no middle ground.
There is no new vision. Few representatives are new and even if they were it comes down to stimulus VS austerity. Free market VS socialism, producers VS consumers, rich VS poor. Class warfare.
Loss of an election does not mean that we give up. We simply have to fight harder and keep trying. We will not accept defeat because of what it would mean to be defeated. To be a powerless minority facing tyranny of the majority. To have no power is to have no voice. To feel unrepresented. To be an alien in your own country.
What I want above all else is self determination. It's hard to feel that while under someone else's boot. While 315 million beautiful and diverse people are being dictated to by a central authority thousands of miles away. A handful of people who have never seen you and will never met you. Who will never hear you. Are we to accept them making every day decisions for us? Do we call that freedom?
I want a nation that does not see violence as the solution but as the problem. That will not use force to hold a Union together. That will not stamp out diversity and free choice. I want a nation that will foster State's rights and let us choose our own path.
This notion of uniting with the President couldn't be further from what I want. Not for me or anyone else.

Re read your post. Then slap yourself.
The only reason YOUR party cannot find common ground now is that they purged all the moderates. You have Senators who aren't seeking another term because YOUR party is so toxic.
The union will not crumble because a minority would rather live in the DISTANT past and believe in the fairy tale that it could work today.
If the majority of your party believed the way you do the only recourse would be civil war, thankfully I do not believe that they do.

The President has a vision.
Perhaps it's time to put individual misunderstandings aside and be a bit patriotic and follow the vision that our 44th President Barack Obama has.
Let's help him and ourselves.
I don't give a hoot about politics but I do believe in the inherent good of Organized Labor.
Let's hope we move in that direction in support of legally recognized, independant Organized Labor agreements.

LOL. If Republicans/conservatives truly wanted less government, they wouldn't vote Republican at all, because no mainstream Republican president has delivered "less government" since, well, ever. All Republicans do is grow the size of government, just like Democrats do. It's not just one or two Republican presidents that pull this bait and switch, ALL of them do it. You can even set your clock to it.
So, you tell me. The people who keep voting for Republican candidates that promise "less government" but never, ever deliver are:
A. Stupid
B. Insane
C. Hopeless True Believers
D. All of the above

That is exactly why I quit supporting the party. They have grown government with every admin since at least Nixon and probably before...
