Default Start8 20% off

if you've installed Windows 8 and want to add a Start button, Start8 is a great little tool. Use this code to get 20% off. ($3.99 instead of $4.99).

Sorry, the coupon ("WK1-CWIC-UVLL-XMLD") you entered is either invalid or has expired. Please try again.

For now, this coupon code works: WK4-XMGC-LUBY-OWUQ

Thanks. Neat program. I was getting annoyed at right corner swiping all the time.

Start8 was a free beta for a while. Now there is a 30 day fre trial, but after that it costs $4.99 (without the coupon).

Start8 is a fantastic solution for those who want to combine the functionality of the "Metro" (Windows 8 UI) start menu with the traditional start menu functionality of Windows 7/Vista/XP. I installed it onto my Grandfather's PC when we upgraded his machine to Windows 8 with an SSD.

With that said, it's also worth noting that you can only have 1 copy of Start8 per email address due to limitations imposed by Stardock's system. Color me unimpressed by that.

I tried out Start8 because of this thread. I was happily using StartIsBack prior.

They both offer minor differences but are essentially the same thing.

FYI StartIsBack just released a paid version. You get 2 licenses for $3. So $1.50 each!

It's worth a try.

The developer seems friendly and open to suggestion and criticism.

@ LizardMan, what are the most notable differences?

Why doesn't microsoft add a start button option? I upgraded one computer out of curiosity but still use my old desktop and browser, so feel kinda ripped off, at least they could add start option for free. Is there anything in windows 8 new except a bunch of shopping links to overpriced wishful sites? (apps)

They're actually trying to charge for PC utility apps now? Good luck with that, there will be 100 free versions of the exact same thing available tomorrow.

No imagine having to explain that BS to hundreds or thousands of enterprise users...

I don't know how I'm going to roll this out into my business.
