Default Is there an android app that does this?

My wife called me and quickly gave me a list of stuff to buy at the grocery store. I quickly jotted everything down on a piece of paper and then brought that piece of paper with me to the store. I would have preferred to create a note on my phone but it would have taken too long to type everything out.

So is there an app that:

1. allows me to handwrite a note within a widget (without handwriting recognition) and then continue to display that note in the widget (albeit in my chickenscratch)
EDIT: 1a. allows me to edit the note from within the widget (eg - crossing stuff off the list with a chickenscratch line)
2. allows me to handwrite a note from within the app (again handwriting recognition not required) and have it display in the widget (if I'm back on the home screens)

Essentially, I would like an app that is just a single piece of scrap paper. Am I relegated solely to drawing apps to server this purpose?

Thanks!

i use swype keyboard for quick typing (beats the pants off touch typing, imo. i wouldnt use a smartphone without it) and gtasks for lots of misc notes, especially shopping lists, since i can edit from anything with a web browser and tasks sync with my google tasks more or less instantly.

You can just use a drawing program. The problem is even on a 4.6" screen, you can only fit 2-3 items on the screen before your writing is so small it's illegible. Are you ok with switching between five images to view your total shopping list?

hmm, how about if the widget allows scrolling around the page? i wonder how complicated that is to program. and my shopping list only had 6 items on it so i think i could fit those on one sheet.

Check this out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ouxie.freenote

I can't offer much by way of opinion, only installed it recently and haven't messed with it much.

There are tons of handwriting apps that you can use to take notes.

My favorite is Handrite Note Pro (there's also a free version). It does come with widgets.

With Google Voice you can press 4 to start recording and then again to stop. Which you could play it back later and it translates it into text.

I usually just write everything down on a piece of paper and then just take a picture of that with my phone.

I think there is a grocery app that you can share lists. when she types her list on her phone she can just share it with you to yours. no writing involved. My Grocery or something...

Or email, or instant messaging...

Also the only phone that you could probably hand write faster than type is the Note thanks to its stylus.

infinite design lets you scroll, pinch to zoom in/out on your canvas and you can adjust the size of the brush. you might like that.

i would use a memo app that does voice recognition. it wouldnt be good to have a straight voice recording because its no fun to sit there and listen to it when you just want to quickly glance at it.

My solutions was to have the wife do all shopping. Makes it much easier than trying to decode what she really wants me to buy. Beyond that, I take pictures of notes or use Google drive.

We have a fairly large glass dry erase board in the kitchen for all of our lists. Snap a picture before you leave, or if you forgot, she can send after the fact via whatever your preferred sharing method is.

That's our method. Otherwise, texting of after-the-fact items is easiest and least error-prone.
