Without any specific questions I cannot comment otherwise (i.e. if that costs $20 than that's a great deal, but if that costs $237,334,942.29 then that's a terrible deal).

Got it and thanks for the quick response. It's a gaming pc. You think its worth 1k? that's what i'm trying to figure out. I'm going through this military shopping website and i'm trying to work with what they are offering.

cool... the 1k price helps on better answering your question

you would be able to build a similar machine for less than 1K. it's not a terrible deal, but you could find more for 1K.

i'm actually customizing it right now and i didnt even notice that the price includes a 22 inch lcd screen. i'm just intimidated by building a pc from scratch.. so when i go to these sites that build them and i see something intriguing my eyes light up lol.

Since that price includes a monitor, it is not too bad. I understand your hesitancy about building your own comp. I feel the same way. I assume you want to use the PC for gaming. If you do, you will need to get a stronger video card or lower the settings for 1080p.

Yes, the video card is weak. And the power supply is an important part that powers & protects all your components so you better be sure it's a quality brand & model if it's a custom-built system.

Ah... I see it's xtremegear, the 700w base PSU is probably fairly inefficient and a single GPU system doesn't need 700w. The 12V rail only supplies 480w max whereas any quality 700w one on newegg puts out 550+w.

Upgrades to video card are pretty expensive as the $161 hike to a 7870 is getting close to the cost of a 7870 straight up.
Ram is dirt cheap so in building a system, you could get 2x8gb sticks.
A SSD + 2TB hard drive is probably a better setup.
Oh and the i7 will give you maybe 2% more performance in games compared to the i5.

If you are near a MicroCenter or Fry's, get a combo deal.

Get whatever kit is cheapest with good ratings at 1600 speed (may want to look into 16gb kits as those may just be $20 more).

If you don't need nvidia physx, 7950 would be better or get a 7850/7870 for $100+ less and overclock it to similar performance levels.

Get a Samsung SSD (wait for a deal from newegg, etc.)
Don't get a Seagate hard drive.

A 7750 for gaming? It's a trap!

If you're looking at a $1000 gaming rig, a 660Ti should be at the bottom of your choices or if you prefer AMD, a 7870. There are other places to skimp (cheap case, 64GB SSD + 500GB). Unless you know you will need hyper-threading, the i7 is overkill for the price difference between the i5 (i.e. get an i5 3570k, you can at least overclock it down the road if needed).
