I dont think you can go wrong with British accents. Even the scumbag Guy Ritchie movie accents are kinda cool. Come to think of it, the only accent I dont like is the American North Eastern accent. Boston, Philly, etc, although I find the Kennedy/Massachusetts accent kinda interesting.

The Northern, Yorkshire kind of accent just screams "stupid asshole" to me. Don't really know why. And I'm sure there are a lot of intelligent people with that accent.
Don't really mind North Eastern. Like California best though.

america by far, specifically the midwest
it is the most pure form of english imho, and most easy for other english dialect speakers to understand
because it is perfection

I cringe every time I hear that JFK "moon speech" wherein he pronounces decade as decayed, which is all too frequently.

I prefer the West Coast (California/BC) American accent. East Coast sounds too nasally.
British accents just sound bad. They are too difficult to understand. You know it's bad when the average Brit can understand the average American but not vice-versa. They mumble too many words and mash them all together. They do not enunciate.

Maybe it's because I always think of JFK and the Mayor in the Simpsons, but its very distinctive, and something I don't hear everyday. I think the shark hunter in Jaws had the same accent.

Sums it up pretty well. Both countries have 'good' accents and god awful ones.

A British accent automatically makes you sound 20x more intelligent. Something about them makes it sound like you know everything about everything.

I love me some Southern drawl, especially on a southern babe.
Generally, though, the best American accent is THE American accent: Mid-west. You know it as the media accent, the neutral actor accent, etc. Anything else is a deviation from the norm. We are the norm.

Except they are all taught the queen's english and have a subtle british accent. I have corrupted many a swede to the midwestern us accent.
